Undergraduate Admissions
Cavalla International University welcomes motivated students, working professionals, adult learners, and individuals seeking to advance their education through undergraduate study. The School of Undergraduate Studies provides a flexible academic environment designed to accommodate students at different stages of their educational and professional development.
Admission is guided by the principle that undergraduate education should be accessible to qualified students while maintaining appropriate standards of academic preparation, integrity, and readiness for university-level study.
CIU employs a holistic and student-centered approach to undergraduate admission, considering an applicant's academic background, educational objectives, professional experience, personal motivation, and potential for successful completion of university study.
Undergraduate Admission Requirements
Applicants seeking admission to a bachelor's degree program are expected to submit the following:
1 Completed Undergraduate Admission Application
Applicants must submit a completed CIU Undergraduate Admission Application containing accurate personal, educational, and contact information.
2 Secondary School Completion
Applicants must provide evidence of completion of a recognized secondary education program, including a:
- High school diploma;
- General Educational Development (GED) credential;
- Recognized secondary school equivalent; or
- Equivalent qualification recognized by the University.
3 Official Academic Transcript
Applicants must submit an official transcript or academic record from the secondary school or other institution where their qualifying education was completed. Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for initial enrollment.
4 Statement of Educational Goals
Applicants should submit a brief Educational Goals Statement, normally approximately 250 words. The statement enables the University to understand the applicant's educational aspirations beyond the academic record.
5 Résumé or Curriculum Vitae
A current résumé or CV may be submitted and is particularly encouraged for:
- Working professionals;
- Adult learners;
- Applicants with significant professional experience;
- Students seeking recognition of prior learning or transfer credit; and
- Applicants returning to higher education after an extended period.
The résumé may include employment, professional experience, leadership, certifications, community involvement, and other accomplishments.
6 Proof of Identity
Applicants must provide a valid government-issued identification document, passport, or other acceptable form of identification.
7 Application Fee
Applicants must submit the applicable non-refundable application fee at the time of application.
Standardized Tests
SAT and ACT scores are generally not required for admission to CIU undergraduate programs.
The University emphasizes an applicant's overall educational preparation, motivation, academic objectives, and potential for successful undergraduate study.
Where a particular academic program establishes additional requirements, those requirements will be communicated to applicants as part of the admission process.
Adult and Returning Students / Degree Completion
CIU welcomes adults and professionals who are returning to higher education after an interruption in their studies.
Applicants are not disadvantaged simply because they have been away from formal education for an extended period. Professional experience, prior college-level learning, certifications, and other educational accomplishments may be considered as part of the applicant's overall academic profile.
The University is particularly committed to providing a pathway for students who seek to balance higher education with employment, family responsibilities, and other professional commitments.
Transfer Credit and Prior Learning
The University recognizes that meaningful learning may occur through traditional academic study as well as professional and other educational experiences.
Applicants may request evaluation of eligible prior college-level coursework for transfer credit. Undergraduate students may be eligible to transfer up to 90 semester credit hours, subject to University evaluation, degree requirements, and applicable academic policies.
Transfer credit does not automatically satisfy every requirement of a student's selected degree program. Students must complete all required residency and degree requirements established by the University.
Undergraduate Learning Pathways
CIU provides flexible pathways designed to accommodate different student circumstances.
Traditional University-Based Learning Track
3–4 YearsThe Traditional Learning Track is designed for students who prefer a conventional academic progression and generally complete their bachelor's degree over approximately 3–4 years, depending on the program, transfer credits, course load, and academic progress.
Fast-Track Learning Program
1–2 YearsThe Fast-Track option is designed for qualified students seeking an accelerated pathway toward degree completion. Depending upon the student's prior learning, transfer credits, course availability, and academic workload, eligible students may complete their degree in approximately 1–2 years.
The accelerated pathway maintains the academic requirements of the degree while providing greater flexibility in the pace of study.
Application Review
CIU reviews applications on an individual basis.
The University seeks students who demonstrate:
- Academic readiness;
- A clear educational purpose;
- Commitment to completing a degree;
- Intellectual curiosity;
- Professional or personal motivation;
- Capacity for independent learning; and
- The potential to contribute positively to the University community.
Admission decisions are based upon the information contained in the completed application and supporting documentation.
