Bachelor of Laws (LLB) Program Expectations
The Bachelor of Laws (LLB) program presents a wonderful opportunity for students interested in pursuing an international law degree. Students who complete the program and meet the basic work experience/requirements may qualify to sit for the bar in some states or in their countries. During your time at CIU – Barclay College of Law, you will be taught through a combination of lectures, seminars, and in tutorial groups. We encourage substantial student participation and class discussion in seminars and tutorials, based on prepared work. Considerable emphasis is placed on small-group teaching where you will benefit from individual attention and advice. In each year of your degree. You will take a number of live courses, normally valued at 36/42 credits per academic year, adding up to a total of 120 credits for the Bachelor of Laws degree program.
Each week of Years 1 and 2 of the program students will have at least four two-hour live lectures and two one-hour small group tutorials each week of terms 1 and 2. In addition to formal learning and teaching events such as lectures, seminars, and tutorials, you will have to undertake live lectures and independent private study.
